Trump’s candidates are leading big in Arizona before primaries

As Arizona voters prepare to cast their ballots in the Tuesday primaries, candidates endorsed by President Trump are maintaining their leads days before the election.

According to a new poll by Rasmussen Reports, Trump-endorsed Republican Kari Lake leads her opponent, Karrin Taylor Robson, by nearly double-digits ahead of the state’s gubernatorial race. Lake is ahead of Robson, who is supported by Gov. Doug Ducey, R-Ariz., by nine percent.

If Lake prevails in her primary, she will likely face off against state Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, D-Ariz.

In the race for U.S. Senate, Trump-backed businessman and author Blake Masters is maintaining his double-digit lead over second place challenger, businessman Jim Lamon. Masters is currently 12 points ahead of Lamon.

Attorney General Mark Brnovich, R-Ariz., who led his opponents until receiving backlash from President Trump for “doing nothing” during his investigation of Arizona’s 2020 presidential election, polled third in the Senate race with 16 percent.

The Republican Senate nominee will face off against incumbent Democrat Sen. Mark Kelly, who is unopposed in his primary.

In his bid for Arizona secretary of state, state Rep. Mark Finchem led his closest challenger, Beau Lane, by 11 percent.

President Trump’s endorsements have been crucial to many candidates seeking to secure victory. In the gubernatorial races, 10 out of the 13 Trump-backed candidates won their races, most recently including Republican Dan Cox.
