National Review Issues Common Core Indictment

As the States begin to consume the “poisoned apple” distributed around America, known as Common Core, Stanley Kurtz writes a scathing indictment of just one component of the big government play to seize States rights, in spite of the lack of enumerated power to do so.

Kurtz writes, “Americans are only now just waking up to a quiet but devastatingly effective effort to replace the teaching of traditional American history in our high schools with a new, centrally-controlled, and sharply left-leaning curriculum.”

Kurtz god on to say, “The traditional emphasis on America’s founders and the principles of constitutional government will soon be jettisoned in favor of a left-leaning emphasis on race, gender, class, ethnicity, etc.

There are serious questions about the legality of the new AP U.S. History Exam, insofar as it may conflict with existing history standards in a number of states. These questions, however, as well as public debate over this massive and tremendously controversial change, have been largely suppressed by the stealthy way in which the College Board has rolled out the new test.”

In his new movie, America, Imagine The Without Her, Dinesh D’Souza connects the dots between what has been happening to our nation gradually since the days of LBJ’s “Great Society” launch and today.  The rewriting of American history and the removal of context as well as important facts, is in effect eliminating the common knowledge base that proves our nation has more often that not been on the side of good, not evil.

Common Core AP History is just one more assault on truth, justice and the American way.  If you can’t beat the concept of liberty and equal opportunity in the debate arena, you create a means to teach that the counterfeit truth is more correct than the truth itself.  Then, of course you bully those who know better by forcing them to adopt an untrue view in order to pass the college entrance exam in order to get into the very college that will continue to re-educate and indoctrinate them.

The central question I have, is if America is such a vile, un-exceptional nation why are so many people fro every corner of the world willing to risk their lives to get here?

Dwight D. Eisenhower warned of the “military industrial complex”, it seems he did not see coming the educational industrial complex.  And, it seems few could predict the infiltration of history charlatans imposing an ideology so foreign to the truth about America, it’s founding and it’s historic progression that it should be recognized a nothing but fiction.

Opponents of the Conservative LD-11 Legislative Team, Steve Smith, Vince Leach and Mark Finchem, both serve on school boards that have embraced Common Core.  Both have been public advocates for adopting the “standards”.  Jo Grant is even on record saying, “Common Core teaches children “critical thinking skills”.  How can that be, if the truth is abandoned for a skewed, leftist curriculum copyrighted to keep prying eyes from learning the truth until it is too late?

The College Board, the keepers of the SAT college entrance exam, have altered that exam to focus not on history, but on race, gender, class and ethnicity than on fact.  What is especially disturbing is that David Coleman is not only President of the College Board, but is also the architect of Common Core.

Ask every legislative candidate if they stand for local control and the Constitutional fact of “enumerated powers” originating from the people?  Or, if they are willing to allow a federalized, left leaning, misrepresented K-12 educational program to eliminate the American educational system.
